The Arab Quarterly creates an elegant performance setting for the music and dance of Chalf Hassan, Melanie Norman and The Arab Quarter Band. This special event celebrates Arabian music and dance in fabulous style. The Arab Quarter Band sets the stage aflame with music of enormous passion, energy and soul. Come and enjoy this thrilling experience. We have top class musicians in Chalf Hassan (vocal/tabla), George Dergham (keyboard/vocal), Emile Bassili (violin) and Mazen Abu Sayf (accordion). They revel in playing the music that is their blood heritage and giving our audience a great time!
The Islington Assembly Hall offers an ambience of relaxed and intimate sophistication with ample seating and a good sized performance area within a delightfully informal setting. Seating is cabaret style and with a full bar available. Our audience is invited to dance with the live band on the beautiful sprung floor just below the stage.
The invited guest oriental dancers who will join Melanie and Hassan on stage with The Arab Quarter Band will be Roxana Dance, Zara Dance, Frederique Assor Liscia, Candan Mills, Elle Nazanin and Ayanna Raqs as soloists, while Liza McNally and Irina Makarenko will perform a duet. In addition, there will be a group performance from Eva Forrai The Whirling Wizard and The One Dance Group, and also from The Arab Quarterly Performers Course Group.
We also give a warm welcome to Stine Olsen who will present for us on this night!
Your special Early Bird offer is here until the end of May at just £16 per ticket, after which the price will be £20 per ticket.
